Inside the program: Taking charge of the image of nursing

Harvard Business School professor Laura Morgan Roberts tells us, "If you aren't managing your own professional image, someone else is." She also reminds us that we are constantly under observation, which in turn creates perceptions about our competence, as well as our character.
Begin the process of reshaping our image by focusing on four categories:
- Professional work environments and interactions
- Appearance
- Collegiality/team member role
- Professional accountabilities
Evaluate how your changes affect what the public sees, hears, and believes about nursing.
