Inside the news: Atlanta hospital receives funding for new grad nurses
HCPro's Weekly Update on the ANCC Magnet Recognition Program®*, December 1, 2009
St. Joseph's Hospital in Atlanta has received a $100,000 grant from New York's Hearst Foundation to fund its RN internship program. The program helps new nurses with the difficult transition from school to clinical practice, and specifically aims to develop their leadership skills.
St. Joseph's joined the University HealthSystem Consortium/American Association of Colleges in Nursing Nurse Residency Program(tm) and is one of the few non-university hospitals to do so. The new grant will be used to pay for the annual enrollment fees.
The hospital was recently recognized for the fourth time as an ANCC Magnet Recognition Program® recipient.
