It's the last week to celebrate National Medical Librarians Month, which aims to raise awareness of the importance of these health information professionals.
Medical librarians play a vital role for organizations on the journey to ANCC Magnet Recognition Program® (MRP) designation as they are valuable resources for many issues, such as educating nurses about evidence-based practice, conducting literature searches to keep up with best practice, and helping nurses provide education for patients.
Medical librarian Nicole Cormia at Wyoming Medical Center in Casper, WY, has been a key player in the organization's MRP journey through helping nurses collect data and has even conducted cost comparisons for new equipment.
