In the know: Managing your money during your first year as a nurse
Stressed Out Nurses Weekly, October 5, 2009
You are finally making your money, but are on the brink of drowning in student-loan and credit-card debt. What happened to the idea of earning money and spending some of it on fun things? Well, that idea is not completely out of reach—it just requires some planning.
Living beyond your means will lead you down the wrong path and to bad consequences. You need to get your money in order as soon as possible. Do not procrastinate and put it off until next year. That will only waste time and put you in further debt.
You will need to organize your financial life. Get a file organizer and create the following files for your various expenses:
- Auto
- Credit cards
- Contributions
- Education
- Income
- Insurance
- Medical
- Mortgage/rent
- Taxes
- Utilities
- Miscellaneous
