HCPro's Weekly Update on the ANCC Magnet Recognition Program®*, September 29, 2009
Three nurses from Flagler Hospital in St. Augustine, FL—designated as an ANCC Magnet Recognition Program® recipient in 2006—recently graduated from the same program with doctorates in nursing practice.
Barbara Drummond-Huth, RN, Brenda Kingdon, RN, and Sharon Smith, RN, were the first nurses to complete a new Doctor of Nursing Practice program at the University of North Florida in Jacksonville.
The advanced degree focuses on preparing nurses to promote evidence-based practices while conducting nursing research projects related to their areas of specialty.
