If you are just starting your application process for ANCC Magnet Recognition Program® (MRP) designation, it is important to communicate frequently with staff members across the entire organization so that everyone understands the benefits that nursing excellence brings to your patients.
It has been shown the following benefits exist in MRP-designated organizations:
- Increased patient/family satisfaction
- Decreased risk of falls, medication errors, postprocedure complications
- Confidence that the hospital has obtained the highest honor awarded for nursing care
- Fewer complaints from family members
- High quality of nursing care
- Opportunity to receive care from nurses dedicated to professional development
- A higher percentage of RNs in designated hospitals are certified and hold BSNs, which has been shown to have a positive correlation with improved patient outcomes
