Inside the program: Enlist nursing leadership support
HCPro's Weekly Update on the ANCC Magnet Recognition Program®*, August 25, 2009
The chief nursing officer should be one of the first—if not the first—supporter of an organization's effort to become recognized for nursing excellence as an ANCC Magnet Recognition Program® (MRP) recipient. All MRP activities will have a greater chance of success if other key leaders in your organization also endorse the program enthusiastically.
At a minimum, the CEO, chief operating officer (COO), and president of the medical staff/medical director should all voice support and express the importance of attending training sessions.
