News brief: Nursing excellence dominates annual list of best children’s hospitals
HCPro's Weekly Update on the ANCC Magnet Recognition Program®*, July 14, 2009
Nine of the top 10 best children's hospitals in the nation have ANCC Magnet Recognition Program® (MRP) designation, according to US News & World Report's annual rankings.
The 2009 top 10 are listed as the best of the best because they received top rankings in every category compared: cancer, diabetes and endocrine disorders, digestive disorders, heart and heart surgery, kidney disorders, neonatal care, neurology and neurosurgery, orthopedics, respiratory disorders, and urology.
The nine hospitals on the "honor roll" with MRP designation are:
- Children's Hospital, Denver
- Children's Hospital, Boston
- Children's Hospital, Los Angeles
- Children's Hospital of Philadelphia
- Children's Medical Center, Dallas
- Cincinnati Children's Hospital Medical Center
- Johns Hopkins Children's Center, Baltimore
- St. Louis Children's Hospital
- Texas Children's Hospital, Houston
