Best practice: Keep staff updated on the journey by using e-mail

It can be challenging trying to spread the word that your organization is pursuing ANCC Magnet Recognition Program® designation. So the ability to spread a uniform message to many people almost instantaneously makes e-mail an attractive medium.
On a scheduled basis-such as weekly or daily-send an e-mail containing information about the program. For example, the following is a sample e-mail you could send out:

Designation is a prestigious and coveted international award given to organizations that demonstrate the 5 Model Components/14 Forces of Magnetism. Characteristics of designated hospitals include:

- Reduced complaints from family members
- High quality of nursing care
- Investment in education for professional development
- Decreased vacancy and nurse turnover rates
- Ability to attract high-quality physicians
- Positive, collaborative, engaging work environment for all employees
