Inside best practice: Feature the color purple to highlight designation
HCPro's Weekly Update on the ANCC Magnet Recognition Program®*, May 12, 2009
The color purple is popping up everywhere at Rochester (NY) General Hospital—a 2004 ANCC Magnet Recognition Program® (MRP) recipient. From bookmarks and mouse pads to buttons and the wrappers around the Hershey® Kisses, staff nurses see the color wherever they look.
“Our nursing logo is ‘Passionate About Nursing’ so our [MRP ] champions branded designation with the color purple because purple reminded us of passion,” says Trish Koops, BSN, RN, CCRN, CSC, MRP champion and a clinical educator in the cardiothoracic intensive care unit (CTICU). “Every time we see something purple, we think of [MRP designation].”
