Inside the program: Educate physicians on the new application manual
HCPro's Weekly Update on the ANCC Magnet Recognition Program®*, April 28, 2009
Educating physicians about the 2008 ANCC Magnet Recognition Program® Application Manual will help them understand the new 5 Model Components, become familiar with the process, and realize the importance of recognition.
Make presentations at medical staff meetings and highlight benefits that relate to physicians. For example, highlight enhanced professional communication between nurses and physicians and improved quality care and outcomes. Also, develop brochures and place items on bulletin boards in the nursing units with information so physicians and patients alike can understand the significance of designation.
