Patients at Emory University Orthopaedics and Spine Hospital (EUOSH) in Tucker, GA, have the luxury of checking e-mail, ordering room-service, sending messages to their physician, and more while in the comfort of their bed.
All 45 patient rooms at EUOSH are equipped with Cerner CareAware™ myStation education and entertainment system. This interactive care system provides patients the opportunity to:
- Access educational materials about their medical procedure or condition
- Review their current medications
- View photos and biographies of the physicians and nurses caring for them
- Send messages to their physician about their care
- Check e-mail
- View meal options and order
- Read information about EUOSH
- Access movies, games, television, and music
- Check daily schedule and goals
The system features a flat-screen panel that is mounted at the end of each patient’s bed. Patients use a wireless keyboard to access all the educational and entertainment features the system has to offer.
