Inside the news: Fifty-three designated hospitals make the list for top places to work
HCPro's Weekly Update on the ANCC Magnet Recognition Program®*, January 20, 2009
More than 50 ANCC Magnet Recognition Program® (MRP) organizations made the 2009 list of “Top 100 Hospitals to Work For,” according to a recent announcement by Nursing Professionals magazine.
Nursing Professionals, a publication geared toward new nurses, randomly surveyed 25,000 nurses throughout the United States in early 2008 on job satisfaction. Participants answered a variety of questions on the survey regarding their facility, such as:
- Personal training and development
- Family-friendly environment
- Flexible working arrangements
- Diversity in the workforce
- Nursing autonomy
Overall, California had the most recognized hospitals on the list.
