Inside the news: Florida hospital celebrates nursing excellence with confetti
HCPro's Weekly Update on the ANCC Magnet Recognition Program®*, December 23, 2008
More than 100 staff members at Winter Haven (FL) Hospital recently filled an auditorium to hear the news that their hard work and dedication had earned the hospital ANCC Magnet Recognition Program® status.
Nurse administrators at the hospital began the journey by thoroughly reviewing all policies and focusing on patient safety and satisfaction, nursing research, and outcomes, says CNO Mary Jo Schreiber. And although the Magnet Recognition Program® designation is a nursing award, she says, it took staff in every department at Winter Haven to achieve it.
After the phone rang in the auditorium with the exciting news from the ANCC, cheers of happiness, hugs, and confetti filled the room.
