This week, Bonnie Clair, BSN, RN, retention project manager at CoxHealth in Springfield, MO, shares some quick retention tips nurse managers can use to increase staff satisfaction:
-
Your laughter is contagious—let staff hear you roar! Good moods affect others positively, while bad moods infect others negatively.
-

-
Randomly ask staff members, "What do you like least about your job?" More than likely, you'll be able to make a difference in that person's life today!
Quote to ponder this week:
"Human beings need to be recognized and rewarded for special efforts. You don't even have to give them much. What they want is tangible proof that you really do care about the job they're doing. The reward is really just a symbol of that." —Tom Cash, senior vice president of American Express
