Inside HCPro's MRP workshop: Get connected
HCPro's Weekly Update on the ANCC Magnet Recognition Program®*, October 28, 2008
On October 2-3, attendees at HCPro’s Workshop on the ANCC Magnet Recognition Program® in New Orleans received best practices on how to prepare for the journey toward designation. During the next several weeks, we’ll feature some of the highlights here in the e-newsletter.
This week, we’ll look at top Web sites for uncovering journal articles:
Internet access within the hospital makes literature searches easier for staff nurses when they are conducting research projects. The Internet can be used to find articles and evidence-based practice information. The following are seven Web sites staff nurses should explore when conducting literature searches:
- Cumulative index to nursing and allied health literature (www.ebscohost.com/cinahl)
- PubMed (www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed)
- Cochrane Database of Systematic Review (www.cochrane.org/index.htm)
- Agency for Healthcare Research and Quality (www.ahrq.gov)
- Evidence-Based Nursing (http://ebn.bmj.com)
- National Library of Medicine (www.nlm.nih.gov)
- National Guideline Clearinghouse (www.guideline.gov)
