Recent polls on www.StrategiesForNurseManagers.com have asked for your take on topics such as The Joint Commission's (formerly JCAHO) Sentinel Alert on bad behavior and the Centers for Medicaid and Medicare Services' (CMS) recent regulations on hospital-acquired conditions. We also asked you about patient satisfaction, staff morale, and your nursing future.

Here's just a sample of what you've told us in recent surveys:

  • Seventy-one percent of you were in favor of The Joint Commission's July Sentinel Alert on bad behavior. Twenty-nine percent reported being unaware of the alert at the time of the survey.
  • Forty-three percent said they believe CMS' new regulations will improve the quality of care offered to patients, while 29% believe the new rules will have no effect.
  • A quarter of those surveyed said morale was "excellent" among their staff, and another 25% rated it as fair. The remaining 50% described their staff's morale as "good."
