In the know: Use these tools to retain important information

Stressed Out Nurses Weekly, October 20, 2008

If you are bogged down by information overload, try this idea using bulletin boards or posters to organize and process that pertinent classroom information:

  • Most of the time, your class content will be organized into units or chapters. So as your instructor progresses through them, make a bulletin board or poster of each chunk as you go along. Don't worry how it looks, because only you will see it.
  • Use big, 2x3 foot pads of cheap paper from an art supply or teaching store and put content in word balloons or weird shapes and link it together with colored, silly, swirled arrows.
  • Have some fun with it. When you try to recall the information later on, you will actually "see" the picture and REMEMBER!
