Inside the news: North Carolina hospital advances with communication technology
HCPro's Weekly Update on the ANCC Magnet Recognition Program®*, August 19, 2008
Catawba Valley Medical Center (CVMC) in Hickory, NC, is keeping its online visitors up-to-date on health and wellness information by implementing a popular, cost-effective communication device: podcasts.
CVMC—an ANCC Magnet Recognition Program® redesignation recipient in 2005—recently added two podcasts to its Web site (www.catawbavvalleymc.org). One is on how to install a child safety seat and the other is on the importance of washing your hands.
The two videotaped podcasts are conducted by a nurse at the facility and last between two and four minutes.
