Inside best practice: Send a message with buttons
HCPro's Weekly Update on the ANCC Magnet Recognition Program®*, August 19, 2008
Buttons can be an extremely helpful communication tool to distribute to nursing and nonnursing staff as you prepare for ANCC Magnet Recognition Program® designation or redesignation. The message on a button can be short and to the point as you communicate information, such as the dates of your site visit or current nursing research projects.
For example, pass out buttons to your MRP champions that read “I’m a Magnet Recognition Program® champion!” to recognize them for their hard work and to help staff seek them out for questioning or discussion. You can also distribute buttons to your shared governance council that read “Ask me about our professional practice model.”
