Inside the news: Massachusetts hospital enjoys double celebration
HCPro's Weekly Update on the ANCC Magnet Recognition Program®*, June 24, 2008
Massachusetts has recently been the site of celebrations—and it’s not just because of its world championship sports teams.
Winchester (MA) Hospital was chosen out of 392 Massachusetts company nominations on June 10 as the No. 1 Best Place to Work for excellence in employee satisfaction, working conditions, and culture by the Boston Business Journal. But that was only half of the good news at the facility.
A week later, the hospital received a call from the American Nurses Credentialing Center announcing its status as a redesignated Magnet Recognition Program® (MRP) hospital.
“We can’t stop here because if we stop here, we don’t raise the bar for nursing excellence and give our patients what they deserve and what they need,” says Donna Sherrill, MM, RN, leader of MRP and special projects.
