Inside a best practice: Achieve a winning approval

HCPro's Weekly Update on the ANCC Magnet Recognition Program®*, June 17, 2008

If you are thinking about submitting a nursing research proposal to your organization’s institutional review board (IRB), keep in mind the following tips to win their approval:

  • Attend an IRB meeting to ascertain topics being discussed.
  • Write a sample informed consent letter that includes the proper components necessary for a potential research project.
  • Complete an application for new approval and submit it to an IRB member for an unofficial review.
