Editor’s note: In the May issue of HCPro’s Advisor, we showed how Rob McEver, RNS, BSN, BBA, a nurse manager at Mercy Health Center in Oklahoma City, OK, received buy-in to implement his SafePath Nurse Program for improving patient transfers from the postanesthesia care unit (PACU) to the medical-surgical (med-surg) floor. This month, we identify the specific duties of the SafePath nurse and how the program has improved patient and nurse outcomes.
