A Washington, DC, hospital is aiming to enhance patient morale by signing an $800,000 contract with the Disney Institute for staff training sessions, according to The Washington Post.

With the goal of a culture change, Walter Reed Army Medical Center is training its staff to be more service-oriented and is requiring all of its military and government employees to attend a four-hour "Service, Disney Style" training session. The sessions, conducted by Disney Institute trainers, focus on treating patients like guests and understanding their needs rather than having a "one-size-fits-all" blanketed approach to patient care.

The hospital expects more than 2,000 of its staff members to complete the training by July of this year.
