Champions sustain the journey after designation
HCPro's Weekly Update on the ANCC Magnet Recognition Program®*, February 26, 2008
Life after ANCC Magnet Recognition Program® (MRP) designation doesn't stop for MRP champions at Virginia Commonwealth University Health System in Richmond, VA--a designated facility since 2006. Wanting to illustrate how staff nurses are involved with the 14 Forces of Magnetism every day, the champions created a calendar showcasing staff nurses incorporating the Forces into their daily nursing practice.
The MRP champions visited each nursing unit to take photos of staff nurses. The photo finalists who made it into the calendar were determined by a vote from the champions. The 12-month calendar displayed each Force of Magnetism, but February and March each displayed two Forces, in order to fit all 14 Forces into the year.
