Three ANCC Magnet Recognition Program®-designated healthcare organizations were recently ranked among Fortune magazine's 2008 "100 Best Companies to Work For®," and one even broke into the top 10. After a thorough facility evaluation, Methodist Hospital System in Houston, TX, was named the tenth best company to work for in the nation. Also in the top 100 are Southern Ohio Medical Center in Portsmouth, OH--ranking 75th--and Lehigh Valley Hospital and Health Network in Allentown, PA--taking the 85th position. A few of these hospitals even ranked above leading companies such as Nike, Yahoo, and Microsoft.
All nominees for the 2008 "100 Best Companies to Work For®" were evaluated on a detailed review of their organization's workplace environment including camaraderie, fairness, credibility, pride, respect, benefits, and survey results from employees.
