Nineteenth healthcare facility in Texas achieves designation

HCPro's Weekly Update on the ANCC Magnet Recognition Program®*, December 4, 2007

Presbyterian Hospital of Plano--a faith-based non-profit healthcare facility in Plano, TX--recently celebrated after receiving news that it has achieved ANCC Magnet Recognition Program® (MRP) designation. The facility is a better place for having made the journey, said the organization's president, Phil Wentworth, in a statement, and it is the nineteenth organization in Texas to earn the nursing excellence award. Wentworth also said that while MRP designation demonstrates the importance an organization places on its nurses to achieve positive patient outcomes, the nursing excellence award also acknowledges that the medical staff and the entire organization is working effectively together to create a culture that supports patient safety, quality, and satisfaction.
