Barking at the bedside
HCPro's Weekly Update on the ANCC Magnet Recognition Program®*, November 20, 2007
Grant Medical Center in Columbus, OH--an ANCC Magnet Recognition Program® recipient in 2005--brings a smile to its patients with the Welcome Waggin' Pet Partner team. Members of the Welcome Waggin volunteer their dogs--and their time--to visit patients, staff, and visitors in selected areas of Grant Medical Center. "All dogs have been thoroughly screened and evaluated for their health and vaccinations," says Paula Kobelt, MSN, RN. "These volunteer teams have been approved and have received training through the Delta Society Pet Partners program to provide calming and relaxing visits to our patients."
