SHM launches annual hospitalist survey
Hospitalist Leadership Connection, November 6, 2007
The Society of Hospital Medicine's (SHM) has launched its bi-annual 'Survey on the State of the Hospital Medicine Movement'. The survey aims to provide a thorough snapshot of the status of hospital medicine including compensation trends, typical workload for hospitalists, and levels of institutional support.
The survey results are often cited in academic studies, media articles, and in negotiations between hospital medicine groups and institutions, where hospitalists work.
According to the society, by participating in this survey, respondents will not only help to ensure the most accurate and representative results, but they will also receive a free full survey report and analysis. Non-respondents will pay up to $495 for these results.
Deadline for respondents to return their completed survey is December 7.
Results of the survey will be released during the 2008 SHM's annual meeting in San Diego, CA, next April.
