Performance feedback profile: Identify opportunities for improving physician performance.
Physician performance, like performance in any profession, will vary. Therefore, physician's performance feedback reports will identify areas in which individuals could improve. It is unlikely that every physician on your staff performs perfectly in every category. With that in mind, treat performance opportunities as expected occurrences rather than as rare events to make it easier to address them collegially and open the door to performance improvement.
More information can be found in 10 Steps to Successful Physician Profiling: How to achieve excellent physician performance, by Richard A. Sheff, MD; and Robert Marder, MD, available at http://www.hcmarketplace.com/prod-2161.html.
