SHM marks National Stroke Awareness Month

Hospitalists are becoming the primary and often sole providers of hospital care for stroke patients, according to a May 9 press release from Philadelphia-based Society of Hospital Medicine. The press release also notes that May is National Stroke Awareness Month.
According to the National Stroke Association, stroke is the third leading cause of death and the most common cause of adult disability in the

· read new clinical reports on stroke
· view protocols submitted for acute cerebrovascular syndromes
· read and adopt practical teaching tips
· pose stroke questions to a multidisciplinary panel of experts
