It is important to recognize that MECs should tailor and annually review proctoring programs for individual practitioners. But generally, specialists who most often provide cognitive care (as opposed to procedural care) are usually evaluated prospectively or retrospectively. Most medical staff leaders prefer prospective and concurrent proctoring to evaluate practitioners who request privileges for various procedures.
