Study confirms low flu vaccination rate for healthcare workers

A study of influenza (flu) vaccination rates published in the February Journal of General Internal Medicine by the University of California at Los Angeles and Harvard University supports growing concerns about healthcare workers and the flu.

Analyzing data from the 2000 National Health Interview Survey, researchers calculated a 38% influenza vaccination rate among healthcare workers. Healthcare employees who had particularly low rates of vaccinations were health aids and workers under age 50.
