Ohio's Lima Community Health Center will use a $339,000 telemedicine grant from the United States Department of Agriculture's (USDA) Rural Development program to transition to an electronic health records (EHR) system, The Lima News reports. Lima, one of 180 applicants and 75 winners, will split the grant with Pike County. The grant also will help create videoconferencing capabilities between Lima and Pike County clinics.

USDA Administrator Russell Davis said the Lima center could be a model for other communities. A Lima clinic administrator said that electronic records will give staff more time with patients and allow physicians to better communicate with patients.
