Hotline offers help with Medicare Part D

The Medicare Rights Center, a national nonprofit consumer group, introduced a hotline in fall 2005 to help older adults and people with disabilities enroll in Medicare Part D, the new prescription drug benefit. The free hotline offers information about the Part D and tips for
- applying for additional funds to pay for the benefit
- choosing an appropriate drug plan
- understanding how the Medicare drug benefit works with state pharmaceutical assistance programs and other drug coverage
The professional hotline is available Monday through Friday from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Eastern time. The number is 877/RxHELP0 (877/794-3570).
