FSMB releases 2003 physician discipline report

The Federation of State Medical Boards (FSMB) recently published its summary of 2003 board actions report. The report includes each state's composite action index--a calculation designed to monitor each state medical board's activity. This calculation is a "weighted average of disciplinary action" taken against physicians who practice and/or are licensed in a state, according to a FSMB press release.
According to the FSMB report, state medical reports took 5, 230 disciplinary actions in 2003. Go to wwww.fsmb.org for more information.
