Michigan doctors can say 'I'm sorry' without fear

Michigan Gov. Rick Snyder signed a bill on Tuesday that will allow healthcare providers to apologize to patients after making mistakes without fear that their apologies will be used against them in malpractice cases, reports the Detroit Free Press. Physicians supported the bill, sponsored by state Senator Jim Marleau (R-Lake Orion) because it would allow them to be more candid with patients. Massachusetts is considering similar legislation.
