Cogent and HMG merge as largest hospitalist firm

Cogent Healthcare and Hospitalists Management Group announced their merger to become the largest U.S. private hospitalist company, according to an April 13 press release. The new Cogent-HMG will have 1,000 hospitalists and providers at more than 100 healthcare institutions in 27 states. The company will be headquartered in Nashville, TN, and maintain offices in Canton, OH.
