The Superior Court of the State of California for the County of Alameda threw out a suit launched by the California Medical Association (CMA) against Blue Cross Blue Shield, according to AMNews.com. CMA filed suit in reaction to Blue Cross’ physician rating program launched in 2010, which grants blue ribbons to physicians who meet certain quality measures. CMA argues that the way physicians are measured is not accurate or fair, but the Court states that the program is protected under the right to free speech, and there is no proof that the program has harmed physician practices.
