CMS seeks comment on ACO waivers

The Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services is seeking comments regarding possible fraud and abuse waivers that would apply to accountable care organizations (ACO). In particular, the waivers would apply to the Physician Self-Referral Law, the federal anti-kickback statute, and certain civil monetary penalties law for specific arrangements involving ACOs, according to the CMS notice. Comments are due by June 6.
