More residents choosing family medicine

For years, physicians were choosing to practice in specialties rather than family medicine, but the tides are turning. For the past two years, more senior medical students have chosen family medicine residencies, according to FierceHealthcare. This year, the number of residents who matched to family medicine residencies increased 11% from 2010. Pediatrics and internal medicine also seem to be increasingly popular among medical student graduates.
