CMS to host open forum for hospital inpatient value-based purchasing program
Hospitalist Leadership Connection, February 1, 2011
The Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services will host an “open door forum” to discuss the proposed rule for the hospital inpatient value-based purchasing (VBP) program, effective October 1, 2012 (fiscal year 2013).
The rule, proposed on January 13, spells out implementation guidelines of section 3001 of the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act, which requires that CMS establish a new hospital VBP program to provide incentive payments for quality patient care.
The two-hour conference call will be held on Thursday, February 10 at 1:30 EST.
The proposed rule is also open for public comment.
