Laborists and GYN hospitalists highly rate career satisfaction
Hospitalist Leadership Connection, July 6, 2010
Obstetrician/gynecologist hospitalists and laborists have a high rate of career satisfaction, according to a recent study, “Survey of obstetric and gynecologic hospitalists and laborists,” published in the American Journal of Obstetrics & Gynecology.
The study surveyed practicing members of the Fellows of the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists. In addition to high rates of career satisfaction, researchers also found that the growing number of these specialists tend to be younger than traditional obstetrician/gynecologists.
“The laborists and hospitalists model provides an alternative type of practice for obstetricians/gynecologists…” states the study. “It is important that we continue to monitor the needs of this burgeoning field of clinical practice.”
