Physicians know that if patients don’t disclose every medication or supplement they take, diagnosing and treating them can be a game of chance. 

The same is true for hospitalist programs working with recruiting firms—if a hospitalist program leader fails to disclose what he or she considers ugly details, such as high turnover rates or poor patient satisfaction scores, the firm can’t make the right diagnosis or design an improvement plan to help the program get the right physicians on board.
