Last month, I mentioned that there are five big waves washing over hospitalists as the healthcare environment changes at a quickening pace. By passing the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act of 2010, the most significant piece of healthcare legislation since President Lyndon Johnson founded Medicare in 1965, President Obama and Congress succeeded in providing near universal medical coverage to Americans.
