Poll results: Has the number of critical care patients increased?

A recent study indicated that intensivists would create a shortfall of 22% by the year 2020. We asked readers if they noticed a marked change. In a February 3 HospitalistLeadership.com poll, “Has the number of critical care patients increased in the last five years?” readers responded the following approximate results:

  • Dramatically: 38%
  • Moderately: 25%
  • Slightly: 38%
  • Not at all: 0%
