What inspires us to work harder or more effectively? Most hospitalist programs offer physicians some sort of bonus or incentive compensation, but the evidence to support this practice is limited. Medical practices have traditionally offered employed nonpartner physicians a portion of collected revenues beyond a certain threshold.
