Placing medical staff applications on a CD or jump drive can reduce the MSSD’s shipping and printing costs and make life a little easier for physicians, says Shirley Prihoda, CPCS, medical staff coordinator at Brazosport Regional Health System in Lake Jackson, TX.
Prihoda explains that the standardized application form that all Texas hospitals use is more than 20 pages. Tack on the hospital’s own policies and procedures, bylaws, code of conduct, and rules and regulations, and the MSSD is looking at printing and shipping nearly 200 pages to every applicant.
