To contract or not to contract—that’s the question many hospital CEOs face when considering starting a hospitalist program or when an existing program has failed. It can be a difficult decision, one often influenced by medical staff–hospital politics. HLA talked to the leaders of two hospitalist management companies to learn what questions the hospital C-suite should ask before making the decision to sign on the dotted line.
