The recent Kadlec decision has medical staff offices (MSO) nationwide wondering how to prevent a disruptive or impaired physician from getting onto their medical staffs or passing one on to another facility. (See “Kadlec verdict reversed: The effect on exclusive contracts” in the July MSB for an overview of the Kadlec case.)
Because hospitals are not required to divulge anything more than a physician’s dates of affiliation, MSPs are developing techniques to ensure the quality of their medical staffs. The following tips can help you do the same.
